Networking

 A computer network can be defined as a group of computers and other peripheral devices that are linked together for the purpose of sharing data and hardware resources. For example, if one of the computers in a network has a printerattached to it, then all the computers in that network can access the printer and use it to print the documents as shown in the following figure, where Computer A and B in a network can give the print command to the printer attached with ComputerC.

The computers in a network can communicate with each other as well as work independently. Each computer in a network is called a Node. The computers in a network can be linked through cables, telephone lines, radio waves or infrared light beams.

नेटवर्किंग

 कंप्यूटर नेटवर्क को कंप्यूटर और अन्य परिधीय उपकरणों के समूह के रूप में परिभाषित किया जा सकता है जो डेटा और हार्डवेयर संसाधनों को साझा करने के उद्देश्य से एक साथ जुड़े हुए हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, यदि किसी नेटवर्क के किसी कंप्यूटर में एक प्रिंटरटैच किया गया है, तो उस नेटवर्क के सभी कंप्यूटर प्रिंटर तक पहुंच सकते हैं और इसका उपयोग दस्तावेजों को प्रिंट करने के लिए कर सकते हैं जैसा कि निम्न आकृति में दिखाया गया है, जहां कंप्यूटर A और B नेटवर्क में हैं कंप्यूटर के साथ संलग्न प्रिंटर को प्रिंट कमांड दे सकते हैं।

एक नेटवर्क में कंप्यूटर एक दूसरे के साथ-साथ स्वतंत्र रूप से काम कर सकते हैं। नेटवर्क में प्रत्येक कंप्यूटर को एक नोड कहा जाता है। एक नेटवर्क में कंप्यूटरों को केबल, टेलीफोन लाइनों, रेडियो तरंगों या अवरक्त प्रकाश बीम के माध्यम से जोड़ा जा सकता है।
